Mental Health as often under a misconception is more than just an absence of any mental disorders. Mental health is a defined as a state of mind where a human mind is able to function normally and is able to cope up with the daily stresses of work and personal life.
Here are a list of the types of mental disorders
· Anxiety disorders, including panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and phobias.
· Depression, bipolar disorder, and other mood disorders.
· Eating disorders.
· Personality disorders.
· Post-traumatic stress disorder.
· Psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia.

Our mental health dictates the way we live and act in our daily lives. It encompasses our social behavior and nature in every thing we do. Unlike physical ailments you cannot spot someone experiencing through something in their lives. There are some signs though like someone alienating and isolating themselves, doing tasks that do not align with their nature, eating or sleeping too much etc. But the presence or absence of these signs are not affirmative to someone’s condition.
There are several reasons for a person to not feel like their own selves and it can range from their socio economic backgrounds to family conditions, violence, certain social and psychological factors and in some cases even genetics play a role.
It is very helpful if the people around you understand and cooperate with you in these tough times. Studies have shown that it is also creative productive healthy if you adopt a habit and make it work like a coping mechanism to get oneself out of tough times.
It is highly recommended to not leave oneself unattended and take the illness as seriously as you would take a cut that needs stitches. A major role in people’s denial and carelessness in taking care of their mental health is the stigma that comes with it. Yes, we agree times have changed for good and people have now started to raise their voices about what they are going through and their success stories of how they got out of a bad time, but it still has not erased the whispers and the talking under the breath amongst the folk.
It is high time people start prioritizing their mental wellness and experience the true joy of living by adopting positive ways to lead their lives. It is important to take lessons from the past and spot toxicity and then make sure you never set foot on that path again.
