Advertising comes under the many inventions man has discovered on his way into the civilization. Personally do you think advertising is all about the extravagant promotions we see nowadays, if you do we are here to you enlighten you, friend.


Advertising has continued to exist since the beginning of your barter system. Advertising is more than just marketing, it is about communication and completing the chain of communication by sending the appropriate message from the sender (the brand) to the receiver (target audience).


Some of the features of advertising are as follows :

· It is a mostly a paid form of communication

· It is omnipresent. You may not even know when it is happening

· There is no specific set or channel for its in flow. It can be done via any channel that is viable according to the situation eg prega news opted for big hoardings outside the airport to attract the attention of people arriving.

· The industry needs creative thinkers, ones who can visualize and bring ideas to life. It is an artist’s arena, for the one’s who dare to think out of the box

· The only way an advertisement is deemed successful is when connects with it’s target audience. It is only then that the efforts put in are lauded and acknowledged.


In a country like India, where emotions play the trump card while making a decision it is an added flavour when conceptualizing anything targeting Indian audience. A very recent relatable example proving this point can be a series of ads currently run by Facebook promoting itself and re asserting it’s position in the social media arena. Not only do the ads serve their purpose by conveying the message loud and clear, it also catches you right in the feels. The ad moves you enough to be motivated to log in and be active right now (Did to us)


Advertising has spread it’s branches in every arena you can think of, it is just not widely limited to the annoying feeling you experience when you are left at cliff hanger of your favourite daily soap. It is also the annoying feeling you get in between streaming youtube and spotify (We know we are funny, thanks). Advertising is literally everywhere, magazines, internt, televisions, newspapers, billboards, walls and autos too. Whatever the medium, whatever the reach the motto is the same everywhere, to promote the service/product assigned and make it reach the masses and the inflow of people to the brand.
